ITANAGAR, June 19: Pointing out that his home district East Siang is known as rice bowl of Arunachal Pradesh due to abundant rice production, Pasighat West MLA-cum-former MP Ninong Ering, in a letter to Union Minister of Food Processing Harsimrat Kaur Badal, said that there is no marketing facility of the produce.
“Arunachal Pradesh is also famous for citrus fruits and ginger. Hence, a cold storage is very necessary to improve sustainability of these products. I would specifically request for provision of a large rolling mill for rice production at Sille of the district to provide food security, employment and marketing facilities to state people to enhance of Act-East policy of your Govt,” the letter said.
